Awardee Requirements

In addition to the criteria established for each Request for Applications, the Empire State Stem Cell Board Funding Committee has adopted standards that apply to all research funded through the Empire State Stem Cell Trust Fund. These standards are set forth in Appendix A-2 (PDF), which is annexed to the contracts all grantees are required to execute before receiving funds.

Section E (PDF file size: 34K) of Appendix A-2 includes requirements that are unique to research involving human pluripotent stem cells. Section E was adopted by the Funding Committee following the recommendations of the Ethics Committee. As the Ethics Committee and Funding Committee continue to study the ethical, legal and social issues of human pluripotent stem cell research, the provisions of this document are likely to change.
