The inaugural meeting of the Empire State Stem Cell Board was held on Monday, October 22, 2007, at the New York Academy of Sciences Conference Center, 7 World Trade Center, New York, New York. Commissioner Richard F. Daines, M.D., presided as Chairperson.

Program Updates

	Consortia Planning Grants Awarded At its September 19, 2008 meeting, the Funding Committee awarded grants to 18 institutions for the development of strategic plans for the creation of consortia for stem cell research.
	Strategic Plan Adopted The Empire State Stem Cell Board adopted its Strategic Plan at the Board's June 27, 2008 meeting.
