ESSCB Strategic Plan

The Empire State Stem Cell Board adopted its second Strategic Plan, The New York State Stem Cell Science (NYSTEM) Program: A Report on Progress and A Vision for the Future, at its June 22, 2015 meeting. The second strategic plan sets forth objectives for the next phase of the program.  It also reports on the progress of the Board and the NYSTEM program for fiscal years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.

The Empire State Stem Cell Board adopted its first Strategic Plan at the Board's June 27, 2008 meeting.

Following consideration of public comments on the Empire State Stem Cell Board's draft Strategic Plan, the Board adopted the plan, with some revisions, at its June 27, 2008 meeting.

To maintain flexibility and allow the Board to respond quickly to new discoveries in stem cell research, the Board will reassess the Strategic Plan (PDF) on an annual basis as a rolling five-year framework for how the state's $600 million commitment to stem cell research may best accelerate scientific discoveries into novel prevention and treatment strategies.
